Eberline TCM-2 Alpha Plus Beta Tool Monitor

Tool monitor using gas flow proportional counters to see alpha and beta contamination.

The TCM-2 uses six large, gas proportional detectors arranged to form a box into which small items may be placed to be surveyed. The detectors are operated by an RM-22TB electronics package that collects and analyzes data from the detectors. The TCM-2 has the ability to discriminate between pulses caused by alpha and beta/gamma contamination by using anti-coincidence counting.
