The Model 43-10-1, typically paired with a meter capable of dual monitoring like a Model 2929 is an alpha-beta sample counter head with detector and sample tray. The detector is a 6.4 cm (2.5 in.) diameter "phoswich": 0.25 mm (0.010 in.) thick plastic scintillator coated with zinc sulfide. The sample tray is capable of holding up to a 5.1 cm (2 in.) diameter filter or planchet.
