Ludlum Model 44-10 2 inch NaI Detector for low level gamma measurements. Will readily measure variations in background and is frequently used for making surveys of large areas of land. Can be coupled with a scaler to perform very sensitive measurements of radioactivity in foods, or other materials. It is the standard for seeing if something is "radioactive".
